After a blight eliminated most American chestnut trees about 100 years earlier, we get the bulk of our chestnuts from Italy. In Tuscany they have a terrific, long (and continuous) custom of chestnut cooking and fireplace cooking. So it's only natural that they would have fantastic tools for both of these.
This fireplace chestnut roasting pan is a great example. Made of heavy steel, this is not a toy or renamed popcorn popper (like the majority of others offered). This design has a clam shell design cover to keep the nuts in place while you shake them. Made in a small factory in Tuscany Italy and imported straight by SpitJack. This is the black-finished version of this product
